But first, I want to address the notion of double consciousness and its relationship to art. By double consciousness I mean the state of being which gives access, at one and the same time,to two distinctly different fields of experience.
In classical anthropological terms this is to describe the shamanic "trance" in which the shaman is both in the world and at the same time navigating the outermost limits of other worlds, psychic spaces aided often by plant "technology", are granted access.
In post-biological terms, this is mirrored by our ability to move effortlessly through the infinities of cyberspace while at the same time accommodating ourselves within the structures of the material world.

Pero antes, quisiera hablar de la noción de doble conciencia y su relación con el arte. Por doble conciencia entiendo el estado del ser que ofrece acceso, simultáneamente, a dos campos de experiencia distintos.
En términos de la antropología clásica, así se define el "trance chamánico",en el cual el chamán o brujo está simultáneamente en el mundo y navegando por los límites de otros mundos, espacios psíquicos ayudados normalmente por "tecnología vegetal".
En términos post-biológicos, esto refleja nuestra capacidad para desplazarnos sin esfuerzo a través de infinitos mundos del ciberespacio, mientras al mismo tiempo nos acomodamos a las estructuras del mundo material
